Heres how we do it.
Check the text file
for unusual punctuation styles,
frequent use of dashes
commas, capitals, exclamations, quotations,
colons and semicolons.
We are concerned about varying space
between sentences
and titles such as Mr., Mrs., Ms., Dr., Jr.
We use several commands
to eliminate more than one space
after commas and periods.
We eliminate any space after Mr. Mrs, Dr., Jr.,
to avoid a manual line break.
We re-insert the space after these titles
after searches for commas and periods
create the needed line breaks or line spacing.
The underscore _ indicates a single space.
